Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Laprise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Manuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lenny Laprise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcel Manuel!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manuel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Laprise manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Manuel looks to clinch
and Laprise counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Manuel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Laprise defends well and Manuel ends up having to push Laprise into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Laprise breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Manuel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Laprise misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Manuel fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lenny Laprise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcel Manuel.
Manuel shoots in for a double leg but Laprise sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Manuel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Manuel darts in trying to clinch
and Laprise counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Manuel looks winded!
Laprise comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Marcel Manuel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Laprise blocks a jab.
Nice body punch from Laprise.
Laprise throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Marcel Manuel has been cut.
Manuel slips a jab and a cross from Laprise.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Manuel tries to clinch but Laprise moves away
and Laprise counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Manuel thinking.
Laprise scores with a nice head shot.
Manuel is rocked!
We've been told by Laprise's head coaches at Synergy Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Laprise moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Manuel! Laprise continues to tee off on Manuel, landing with a left and a right! Laprise connects with a right hand that leaves Manuel sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Laprise!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lenny Laprise!
