The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahoney uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ross.
Ross throws a looping overhand right but Mahoney ducks down to avoid it.
Ross scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Mahoney on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ross throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mahoney feints and as Ross raises his hands in defense, Mahoney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mahoney tries to free his leg and advance position but Ross is retaining full guard.
Mahoney trying to control the position from guard on top but Ross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ross wants to sweep here but Mahoney controlling him for the moment.

Ross can't keep his opponent in guard - Mahoney advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mahoney is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ross is looking to improve his position but Mahoney isn't that keen on the idea.
