Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karol Rafal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karol Rafal could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Raphael Davis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karol Rafal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raphael Davis! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Rafal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Davis misses with a wild body shot. Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Davis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rafal's guard. Davis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Davis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rafal swivels though and keeps the full guard. Davis sitting in guard here, content to control.
Raphael Davis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Rafal has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rafal prevents a takedown attempt there.
Davis is trying to pull guard but Rafal has him pressed against the cage. Karol Rafal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raphael Davis. Rafal lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Davis tries to break free but Rafal pushes him back against the cage. Rafal prevents the takedown attempt.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Davis. Rafal lands an elbow that stopped Davis in his tracks for a moment. Rafal has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Davis after a bit of a struggle. Rafal presses Davis against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Rafal is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Davis is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis trying to stall but Rafal improves his position.
Davis is trying to push Rafal away but Rafal has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rafal drops down looking for an ankle pick but Davis pulls his leg out and moves away.
Davis looking to score a takedown here. Rafal is defending well but Davis drives through and ends up in Rafal's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis postures up in Rafal's guard and throws a big left but Rafal blocks it. Davis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Davis looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Davis looking to pass the guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Raphael Davis wasn't active enough on the ground. Davis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rafal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis to score an easy takedown into full guard. Davis scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rafal swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rafal controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself. Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rafal trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rafal is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rafal can't keep his opponent in guard - Davis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raphael Davis dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Davis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rafal takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Davis is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rafal's shoulder. That is not cool. Davis scoring with punches and elbows. A lull in the action here as Davis stalls from top position. Raphael Davis has got the better of the ground game so far. Davis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Davis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rafal, who protects the arm well. Rafal is trying to escape the position but Davis is controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Rafal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rafal prevents Davis from moving into mount. Davis controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis wants to control but Rafal is keeping him busy. Rafal is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rafal trying to remain calm as Davis controls from the top position. Davis trying to control the action but Rafal is working from the bottom. Rafal could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Raphael Davis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Davis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Davis not doing much here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Davis stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rafal to get to his feet. Rafal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Rafal persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing. Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Rafal. Rafal gets slowly back to his feet. Davis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Davis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis grinds an elbow into Rafal's temple. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davis is staying tight to Rafal's torso, preventing him from escaping. Rafal takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Davis landing strikes. Rafal is letting Davis control him for a moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raphael Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Rafal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Davis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rafal shoots in but Davis avoids the takedown attempt easily. Davis drives through with a takedown into Rafal's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Davis works a leg free and moves into half guard. Davis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Davis decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Davis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rafal quickly recovers to half guard. Davis is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis is nestled in close to Rafal, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Davis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rafal trying to control from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davis decides to stand and escape the position. Davis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rafal tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Davis is in Rafal's guard. Davis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Davis passes Rafal's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Davis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Davis escapes and gets back to his feet. Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Rafal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rafal misses with a body shot.
Davis fails with the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Davis wants it to stay on the feet. Davis throws a solid leg kick but Rafal takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Davis. Davis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rafal being controlled here, momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davis is pushing down on Rafal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rafal is fighting to maintain full guard but Davis has managed to sneak the leg through. This has been an exciting period of action! Davis lands with a punch from half guard. Karol Rafal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Raphael Davis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Davis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that's the end of the fight! Raphael Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Davis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
