Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bobert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dinu Costin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Bobert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dinu Costin!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costin wants to clinch up but Bobert keeps it at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Bobert. Those never looked like landing.
Costin shoots in but no luck this time.
Costin fails to land the takedown.
Bobert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Bobert holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bob Bobert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dinu Costin.

Bobert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bobert shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Costin misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Bobert content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bobert thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Costin's head.
Bobert seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Bobert prevents Costin from improving his position.
Bobert stops Costin from getting back to his feet.
Bobert tries to stand but can't do so whilst Costin controls his leg.

Bobert is looking for a kimura but Costin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bobert to get the leverage.

Costin regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bobert wanted to stand there but Costin had control of the position.
Costin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bobert won't allow Costin to get back to his feet.
Bobert is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bobert has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Costin is proving hard to escape from.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Costin is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bobert pulls Costin in close to prevent any damage.

Bobert is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Costin defends well.

Costin throwing strikes but missing.
Bobert can't keep his opponent in guard - Costin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bobert has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Costin is working away from the top position though.
Bobert is staying active underneath Costin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Costin prevents Bobert from improving his position.
Bobert gets full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Costin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bobert works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bobert looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bobert prevents Costin from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bobert wants to stand up but Costin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Costin tries to get to full guard but Bobert has control of the leg.

Bobert is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Bobert.
Bobert leaves Costin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bobert throws a sloppy head kick and Costin moves out of range easily.
Costin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bobert sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Costin somewhat.
Costin lands a really nice looking cross but Bobert seems unphased.

Costin shoots in but Bobert avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bob Bobert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dinu Costin.

Bobert shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Costin has hold of Bobert's hands but Bobert slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looks like Bobert is going to stand back up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bobert in particular looking to stall.
Costin keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Bob Bobert overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bobert is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bobert takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dinu Costin.

Bobert shoots in and gets a takedown into Costin's guard.
Bobert wants to stand but Costin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Costin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bobert defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bobert controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Bobert dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Costin has his takedown stuffed

and Bobert decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Costin's guard.
Costin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bobert controls the pace.
Costin is trying to control the position but Bobert postures up.
Bobert is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Bobert.
Costin dives in and grabs Bobert's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bobert pushes down on Costin's head and hops out.
Costin misses with a takedown attempt - Bobert sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Costin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bobert has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Costin is trying to keep an underhook but Bobert manages to get the takedown into half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Costin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Bobert tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Bobert is trying to get an arm triangle but Costin is defending well.
Costin is trying to control Bobert's posture but Bobert avoids it.
Costin is looking to regain half guard here but Bobert keeps moving and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bobert controls the position.
Bobert wants to control but Costin is keeping him busy.
Bobert wants to stand but Costin is controlling his arm.
Costin misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Costin trying to control but Bobert flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Bobert has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
