PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Weiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reginald Leslie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weiser throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leslie's waist but Leslie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Weiser off to one side.
Leslie wants to clinch up but Weiser keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Weiser goes for a takedown attempt but Leslie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Weiser avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Leslie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Weiser's head backwards.

Weiser drives through with a takedown into guard.
Weiser looking to sit in guard and control but Leslie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Leslie wants to stand but Weiser has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Leslie stands and steps away. Weiser gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Weiser manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Leslie on his heels. He'll look to pass Leslie's guard now, I'm sure.
Weiser throws a strike but Leslie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Leslie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Leslie is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leslie stands and steps away. Weiser gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Weiser shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Leslie's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Weiser is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Leslie is trying to control the action in half guard but Weiser is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Leslie wants to pass the guard but Weiser is defending well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
