Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luke Duke! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duke doesn't manage to clinch there - Davidson circles away.
Davidson really is a fat lump. Duke stuffs the takedown. Duke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Davidson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Davidson checks a low kick from Duke. Duke falls off balance throwing a combination
and Davidson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Davidson. Duke ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Duke no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Duke has his foot on Davidson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davidson works his way back into a safe position though. Duke has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Davidson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Duke pulls guard successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. Duke throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Duke keeping moving, preventing Davidson from controlling successfully. Duke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Duke thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Davidson preventing the sweep. Duke wants to stand and escape but Davidson is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duke seems keen to control Davidson's posture.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Davidson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duke avoids the head kick by Davidson.
Duke drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Duke content to stall in guard here. Davidson wants to sweep but no luck. Davidson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Davidson wants to sweep but no luck. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Duke with a flurry of punches that miss. Duke is working Davidson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Davidson is breathing heavily. Duke postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duke passes easily into side control. Nice work. Davidson tries to buck Duke off but Duke is having none of it. Duke has knee on belly and moves into mount. We've been informed that Duke has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Duke lands a big shot there that rocks Davidson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Duke controlling the pace for now. Duke looking to finish Davidson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Davidson! Duke has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Duke controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duke has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Davidson is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luke Duke! After winning the bout, Luke Duke thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
