Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chad Slone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thiago Oliveira! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slone drives through with a takedown into Oliveira's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oliveira working a defensive guard but Slone manages to pass into side control anyway.
Oliveira parries the strikes from Slone easily there. Slone is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Oliveira to escape.
Slone working away. Oliveira regains half guard. Oliveira wants to control but Slone is keeping busy and won't allow it. Slone is looking for a kimura here.
Oliveira wants to improve his position but Slone is controlling well.
Oliveira is still trying to improve position. Slone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oliveira is just riding it out for now. Slone eventually gives up the hold. Oliveira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oliveira is trying to stand.
Slone looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Slone is breathing heavily. Oliveira wants to control but Slone is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliveira might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Slone haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Slone wants to free his trapped foot but Oliveira is holding on for dear life with his legs. Slone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Oliveira defends it well. Oliveira trying to hold on to Slone's head to control him but Slone postures up.

Oliveira wants to control but Slone is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliveira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Oliveira is trying to stand.
Oliveira is looking for a sweep. Slone is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Oliveira wants to control but Slone is keeping busy.
Slone is working for a kimura but Oliveira is defending it quite comfortably.
Slone prevents Oliveira from improving his position. Oliveira trying to control but Slone postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slone works his way into full mount! Slone wants to finish this one by submission but Oliveira is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Slone. Oliveira is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Oliveira is trying to escape the mount.
Slone landing punches. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oliveira tries to hold on but Slone pushes him away. This has been an exciting period of action! Oliveira tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Slone dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Slone avoids the head kick by Oliveira.
Oliveira closes the distance but Slone moves to the side and Slone counters with a leg kick. Oliveira scores with a takedown into Slone's guard. Oliveira trying to control the position from guard on top but Slone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oliveira is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Slone has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Oliveira is looking to defend but Slone has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Oliveira! Slone pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Oliveira taps out and this one is all over!
