Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Will Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Gurel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Will Butler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Gurel! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Butler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gurel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Butler. Butler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gurel swivels and escapes. Gurel has managed to clinch.
Gurel gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gurel not landing any meaningful shots this time. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gurel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Gurel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Gurel passes to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gurel controls the position. Gurel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butler keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gurel working the ground and pound. Gurel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Butler's shoulder. That is not cool. Gurel works to advance to full mount. Butler defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Gurel working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Butler turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gurel off and cradles Butler's limp body as Gurel celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jake Gurel! Jake Gurel thanked the fans post fight for their support.
