Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Will Powders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rocket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Rocket will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Powders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Rocket!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powders gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Rocket to counter with a crisp jab.
Rocket punishes Powders's body with a nice straight punch.

Powders shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rocket manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rocket throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Powders slips nicely into half guard.
Powders definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rocket is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Powders is working for a kimura but Rocket is defending it quite comfortably.
Rocket works his way to full guard. Good work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powders tries to free his leg and advance position but Rocket is retaining full guard.
Powders is working hard here to advance position.
Powders slips nicely into half guard.

Rocket wants to get back to his feet.

Powders is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rocket sees it coming and defends easily.
Powders is pressing down on Rocket's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rocket is holding on for now.
Rocket wants to control but Powders is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Powders looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Rocket moves into full guard.
Powders pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rocket is keeping the position for now.

Powders preventing the sweep.

Powders drops back looking for a leg! Rocket is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rocket manages to kick Powders off! Powders jumps back into Rocket's guard.
Rocket wants to sweep here but Powders controlling him for the moment.
Powders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rocket swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Powders slips nicely into half guard.
Rocket is trying to maintain the position but Powders is very close to passing his half guard.
Powders tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rocket knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rocket is looking to escape.

Rocket is trying to get back to full guard.
Powders works his way into side control.
Rocket prevents Powders from moving into mount.
Powders advances to full mount.

Powders jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rocket is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rocket and Powders has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Powders advances to full mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Powders wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Powders dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Rocket throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Powders fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rocket tests Powders's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rocket connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Powders tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rocket sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Powders somewhat.
Rocket pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Powders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rocket swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Powders. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Powders takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Powders shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Powders was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rocket struggling a bit here.
Will Powders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Powders tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rocket tries to improve position but can't.

Powders goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rocket rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Powders's guard! Nice work there by Rocket!
Rocket with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Powders utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Powders escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rocket gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Powders keeping moving, preventing Rocket from controlling successfully.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Powders is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rocket looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Powders wants to sweep but no luck.
Rocket trying to control but Powders is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rocket stands up over Powders, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Rocket won't allow Powders to sweep him here.
Rocket distracts Powders with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rocket trying to control the position from guard on top but Powders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rocket lands a couple of digs.

Powders is looking for a triangle here but Rocket uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Powders manages to get back to half guard.
Powders regains full guard. Nicely done.
Rocket is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Rocket has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Powders is proving hard to escape from.

Rocket postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Powders looking for a sweep. Not yet Powders, not yet.
Rocket throws a big right hand that misses.

Powders working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rocket doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Powders is tightening it up a little... Rocket has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rocket reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rocket taps out! Nice BJJ there by Powders!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Will Powders!
Will Powders very nearly forgot to thank Alpha Male amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
