Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Santana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ray Lennox!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Santana tries a head kick but it misses.
Lennox has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Antonio Santana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Antonio Santana.

We're going to have a standup here because Antonio Santana wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lennox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Santana as he avoids it easily.
Santana tries to clinch there but Lennox circles away.

so Lennox counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lennox throws a strike but Santana rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Santana trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Santana controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lennox bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santana's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Santana seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lennox's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lennox lands with a kick to the ribs.
Antonio Santana is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lennox fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santana sprawls well initially but Lennox persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Santana keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Lennox drops an elbow to the side of Santana's head.
Ray Lennox has got the better of the ground game so far.
Santana wants to improve his position but Lennox is controlling well.
Lennox thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Lennox trying to control the action but Santana is working from the bottom.
Santana is looking to control Lennox's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santana avoid being mounted?
Lennox looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Lennox thows a huge punch but Santana dodges it nicely.
Lennox seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santana does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lennox throws a strike but Santana avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Santana's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lennox blocks a head kick by Santana.
Santana takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lennox swats away the attempt to clinch by Santana.

Antonio Santana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lennox lands with a nice body punch.
Santana closes the distance and lands a one-two.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Lennox counters with a crisp right that sends Santana to the canvas! Lennox follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
