PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dannie Faulkner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Boss told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dannie Faulkner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Big Boss!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Boss enables Faulkner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boss manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Boss pulls Faulkner in close to his closed guard and prevents Faulkner from doing any damage or advancing position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Faulkner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Faulkner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Faulkner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boss has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Faulkner has managed to get both his arms back between Boss's legs - danger averted.

Well Faulkner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
