Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Pikachoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Bergasmarchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Bergasmarchi! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pikachoo fails with the takedown. Bergasmarchi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pikachoo circles away quickly and effectively. Bergasmarchi shoots in and gets a takedown into Pikachoo's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Bergasmarchi trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Pikachoo manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Pikachoo trying to control the position from guard on top but Bergasmarchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pikachoo is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $300 fee) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Bergasmarchi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bergasmarchi keeping full guard, as Pikachoo tries to pass. Bergasmarchi wants to stand up but Pikachoo is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bergasmarchi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pikachoo to the mat! Pikachoo manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pikachoo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bergasmarchi has his hands on Pikachoo's head, controlling the position. Gabriel Bergasmarchi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
No joy there for Bergasmarchi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bergasmarchi tries to bum rush Pikachoo with a series of wild strikes but Pikachoo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pikachoo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bergasmarchi as he avoids it easily. Pikachoo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bergasmarchi on his heels. He'll look to pass Bergasmarchi's guard now, I'm sure. Gabriel Bergasmarchi has got the better of the ground game so far. Bergasmarchi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bergasmarchi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bergasmarchi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Bergasmarchi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Pikachoo struggling a bit here. Pikachoo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bergasmarchi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Bergasmarchi wants to control but Pikachoo is keeping him busy. David Pikachoo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pikachoo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bergasmarchi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pikachoo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bergasmarchi.

Danga de danga de dang - Bergasmarchi scores with a four punch combination! Pikachoo misses with a takedown attempt and Bergasmarchi counters with a single leg into guard. Pikachoo didn't expect that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Bergasmarchi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bergasmarchi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pikachoo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gabriel Bergasmarchi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bergasmarchi content to stall in guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Gabriel Bergasmarchi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bergasmarchi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
