The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Why.
Wood will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wood looks to land a left hand but Why moved out of range nicely.
Wood throws a shot to the body.
Wood misses with a body kick.
Why moves out of range of the strikes.

Why forces Wood back against the cage and clinches.

Wood breaks the clinch.
Wood throws a wild body kick that Why sees coming a mile off.
Wood connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like Stevie Why has been cut.
Wood fails to land with a series of punches.
Wood swings for the body but Why moves out of range.
Wood pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Why avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rob Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood works the jab nicely.
Why fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Wood throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A jab from Wood misses.
Wood thows a body shot but no joy.
Wood takes a swing at Why's ribcage but misses.
Wood misses with an uppercut.
Wood throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Wood throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Why.
Wood missing with a left hand there. Why was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Why takes a jab right on the kisser.
Wood throws a leg kick but Why checks it.

Wood cracks Why with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Why tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Wood pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Why is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
