Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valdivia Chinelinho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hihu Mihu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Valdivia Chinelinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hihu Mihu!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mihu instigates a clinch.

Mihu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chinelinho misses with a series of wild punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chinelinho is defended easily by Mihu.
Chinelinho tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Chinelinho takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Mihu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mihu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mihu is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chinelinho won't allow Mihu to sweep him here.
Chinelinho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Chinelinho wants to control from the top but Mihu keeps moving.
Mihu wants to stand but Chinelinho is controlling the position.

Mihu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chinelinho falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mihu counters with a nice body shot.
Chinelinho is looking to land body kicks.
Mihu doesn't manage to clinch there - Chinelinho circles away.
Chinelinho leaves Mihu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chinelinho misses with the combination.
Chinelinho shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mihu but Mihu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mihu fails with a takedown attempt.
Mihu shoots in for a double leg but Chinelinho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Valdivia Chinelinho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hihu Mihu.

Mihu tries for a takedown but Chinelinho sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Valdivia Chinelinho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mihu takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Chinelinho throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Mihu gets caught napping as Chinelinho dives in and scores a takedown. Mihu manages to retain guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chinelinho passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mihu tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mihu is not content to let Chinelinho control the position.

You can see the frustration on Mihu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Chinelinho cracks Mihu with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Mihu is trying to control Chinelinho's posture but Chinelinho avoids it.
Chinelinho moves into full mount!
Mihu is looking to get to half guard.
Chinelinho with shots to the head and body - Mihu looks very uncomfortable down there.

Chinelinho scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Mihu?

Chinelinho has hold of Mihu's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mihu manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chinelinho lands a big elbow.

Chinelinho is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Mihu slaps away a takedown attempt from Chinelinho, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Chinelinho pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Chinelinho fails in his attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chinelinho moves in looking to clinch but Mihu pushes him off.
Chinelinho misses with a wild combination.
Chinelinho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mihu counters with a big head kick but Chinelinho shrugs it off.
Mihu is looking to clinch but Chinelinho is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valdivia Chinelinho dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Chinelinho misses with some punches.
Mihu has Chinelinho pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chinelinho manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Chinelinho is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Mihu tries to pull guard but Chinelinho holds him up against the cage and eventually Mihu drops back down to his feet.
Valdivia Chinelinho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hihu Mihu.

Mihu manages to break the clinch.
Chinelinho circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mihu blocks the body kick.
Chinelinho fails to land the takedown.
Chinelinho tries to bum rush Mihu with a series of wild strikes but Mihu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chinelinho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chinelinho tries to clinch up but Mihu circles away and keeps his distance.
Mihu misses with a takedown attempt - Chinelinho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mihu is breathing heavily.
Mihu shoots in looking for a takedown but Chinelinho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mihu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A left lands for Chinelinho.
Mihu slips a jab and a cross from Chinelinho.
Chinelinho's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Chinelinho duly obliges.
Chinelinho misses with a double jab.
Mihu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chinelinho paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chinelinho shoots for a double leg takedown but Mihu sprawls well. He's pushed Chinelinho's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A head kick from Mihu lands but Chinelinho takes it in his stride.
Mihu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mihu shoots in looking for a takedown. Chinelinho tries to sprawl out of it but Mihu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chinelinho manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chinelinho shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mihu as he jumps to the side.
Valdivia Chinelinho is winning the standup battle so far.
Chinelinho doesn't manage to clinch there - Mihu circles away.

Chinelinho gets tackled into the cage by Mihu. Mihu maintains the clinch.
Chinelinho has had enough of the clinch but Mihu keeps him there for the moment.
Chinelinho is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mihu is keeping busy.
Chinelinho wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mihu has him pressed against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mihu shoots in and drives through. Chinelinho sprawls well.

Chinelinho shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mihu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mihu has his foot on Chinelinho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chinelinho works his way back into a safe position though.

Chinelinho gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Chinelinho pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Mihu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Mihu or perhaps it was just good defense by Chinelinho which made him look bad.

Chinelinho bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Chinelinho shoots in looking for a takedown. Mihu tries to sprawl out of it but Chinelinho keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mihu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mihu thumps Chinelinho with a low kick.
Chinelinho swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mihu misses with a takedown attempt
and Chinelinho counters with a straight right hand.
Chinelinho throws a series of punches but Mihu moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chinelinho closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chinelinho wants to take a breather but Mihu is having none of it.
Mihu preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Chinelinho escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valdivia Chinelinho dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Mihu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mihu shoots for a double leg takedown but Chinelinho sprawls well. He's pushed Mihu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mihu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Valdivia Chinelinho is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mihu shoots in and drives through. Chinelinho sprawls well.
Chinelinho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mihu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Chinelinho throws a right hand that Mihu ducks under and follows up with a left that Mihu also avoids with ease.
Mihu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chinelinho sprawls well. Chinelinho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mihu gets slowly back to his feet.

Chinelinho closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mihu did well to prevent Chinelinho getting side control.

Mihu is looking for a sweep. Chinelinho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mihu is trying to stand up here but Chinelinho is controlling him well.
Chinelinho scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Valdivia Chinelinho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chinelinho is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Chinelinho connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mihu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chinelinho takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Chinelinho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chinelinho avoids the attempt from Mihu to control.

Mihu is squirming around, avoiding Chinelinho's attempts to control the action.

Valdivia Chinelinho is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mihu tries to hold on but Chinelinho postures up.

Chinelinho postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mihu looks a forlorn figure.

Chinelinho is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mihu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well Chinelinho has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
