Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dodson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shouse counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Shouse is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dodson reverses the position - he's now on top in Shouse 's guard. Shouse keeping moving, preventing Dodson from controlling successfully. Dodson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dodson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shouse 's guard. Shouse works his way to full guard. Good work. Dodson stops Shouse from standing up. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shouse pulls Dodson in close to his closed guard and prevents Dodson from doing any damage or advancing position. Dodson trying to control but Shouse is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse has control of Dodson's left arm, preventing Dodson from doing any damage. Dodson postures up.
Dodson pushes down on Shouse 's leg and manages to get into half guard. Shouse is trying to control but can't.
Dodson is keen to just control but Shouse is a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Shouse throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dodson was covering up waiting for the punch and Shouse finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dodson wants to stand and escape but Shouse is having none of it. Shouse slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dodson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dodson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Shouse tries to free his leg and advance position but Dodson is retaining full guard. Shouse really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dodson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Joshua Shouse has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Dodson looks for a takedown but Shouse sprawls well. Dodson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shouse swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dodson is pressed up against the cage. Shouse has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dodson down to the mat. Dodson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Dodson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shouse gets a double leg takedown into Dodson's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Shouse postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Shouse 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dodson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shouse is controlling him. Dodson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dodson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shouse is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dodson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shouse tries to hold on but Dodson postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Shouse dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dodson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shouse is aware though and is defending well. Dodson working for a triangle but Shouse defends it easily.
Shouse trying to control but Dodson is working from the bottom. Shouse must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shouse is working Dodson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dodson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Shouse doesn't defend quickly enough and Dodson has managed to lock this one up! Can Shouse escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dodson on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Dodson! A determined John Dodson didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
