Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, RT Fisher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Colonel Angus! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Angus showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Fisher is trying to keep Angus in close.
Fisher can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Angus controls the pace. Fisher is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Angus is aware though and is defending well. Fisher is trying to control the position but Angus postures up. Fisher looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Angus advances position into side control! Fisher wants to get back to his feet but Angus drags him back down. Angus goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fisher rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Angus's guard! Nice work there by Fisher! Angus is looking for a triangle but Fisher pushes his legs off easily.

Fisher in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fisher advances to half guard. Fisher thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fisher is nestled in close to Angus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Angus is looking for a sweep. Fisher is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fisher drops an elbow to the side of Angus's head. Fisher is trying to work for a kimura but Angus is defending well.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fisher slips a nice elbow through Angus's hands, connecting with Angus's forehead. Fisher is trying to control the action in half guard but Angus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fisher trying to pass the guard but Angus defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fisher trying to mount his opponent but Angus defends it. Fisher working Angus over with strikes. Angus is looking to improve his position.

Fisher changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Angus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fisher is looking to take a break and control but Angus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Fisher landing strikes. Fisher creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Fisher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Angus tries to buck Fisher off but Fisher is having none of it. Fisher throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Angus is trying to improve his position. Fisher landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fisher looks up at the clock and then as Angus takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fisher smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Fisher swings around for an armbar but Angus sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Fisher's guard. RT Fisher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fisher tries to bench press Angus off him but Angus keeps the position. Angus is looking to take a break and control but Fisher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Angus thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fisher is trying to get back to half guard. Fisher manages to get back to half guard. Fisher is looking to control Angus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fisher avoid being mounted?

Fisher is squirming around, avoiding Angus's attempts to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fisher throws a right and a left that Angus avoids nicely. Fisher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Angus trying to control here.

Fisher wants to take a breather but Angus is having none of it. Angus makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Angus. Angus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fisher's guard.

Possibly, maybe, no Angus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Angus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fisher is trying to get back to half guard. Fisher could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. You can see the frustration on Fisher's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Angus tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Fisher can't do much from the bottom here. Fisher regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fisher looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fisher flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fisher works his way to full guard. Good work. Angus advances position into side control! Fisher manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Angus is looking to take a break and control but Fisher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Fisher tries to roll over but Angus keeps him under control. Fisher preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
