Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lavern Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeice Retso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeice Retso has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lavern Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeice Retso!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Retso gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Retso working the body and head with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wyatt tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Retso's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Wyatt regains half guard.
Retso controlling the action here.
Wyatt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wyatt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Retso pulls his head out easily.
Wyatt is looking for a sweep. Retso is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Retso takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Retso looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Wyatt looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Retso is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Retso with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Retso lands a nice short elbow.
Retso trying to control the pace.
Wyatt wants to improve his position but Retso is controlling well.
Wyatt is staying active underneath Retso, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Retso is trying to control the action in half guard but Wyatt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jeice Retso hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Wyatt closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Retso to the mat! Retso manages to get full guard.
Retso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Retso wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wyatt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Retso is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wyatt, into his guard.

Retso scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Wyatt looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Retso has picked Wyatt up and slammed him! Wyatt can't keep hold of the triangle and Retso manages to pass to side control!
Retso happy to just control the position for now.
Wyatt is looking to reverse the position.

Retso works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Retso tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Wyatt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Retso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wyatt is working hard here to advance position.
Wyatt is working to avoid the ground and pound but Retso connects with a decent elbow.
Retso controls the position.
Wyatt on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wyatt takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wyatt manages to work his way to half guard, despite Retso's best efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Retso wants to control the position but Wyatt says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Retso makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Retso.

Retso controls Wyatt momentarily but Wyatt frees himself.
Retso has Wyatt pulled in close to control his posture.
Wyatt scoring with punches to the head and body.
Wyatt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Let's hope that Retso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeice Retso wasn't active enough on the ground.
Retso throws a poor cross that misses
and Wyatt counters with a right hand to the body.

Wyatt shoots in and gets a takedown into Retso's guard.
Retso looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Retso is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wyatt is aware though and is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Retso can do anything to dispel that myth.

Retso wants to control the position but Wyatt says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Retso has his hands clasped together around Wyatt's back. He's all about the action.
Wyatt is thwarting Retso's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeice Retso was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Wyatt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wyatt throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Retso works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Wyatt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Retso is just riding it out for now. Wyatt eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Retso is looking to control Wyatt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Retso avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lavern Wyatt will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Retso tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Retso has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wyatt lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Retso keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Retso looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Retso passes to side control.

Wyatt is trying to get back to half guard.

Retso lands a few punches from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wyatt is looking to reverse the position.
Retso takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Wyatt to pass into mount.
Retso lands with some strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Retso tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wyatt is bucking up trying to escape but Retso cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Retso cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Retso trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Retso pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Wyatt is trying desperately to improve position.
Retso controlling his opponent.

Retso is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wyatt is surviving well by controlling Retso's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Retso is landing with some decent strikes but Wyatt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee warns Wyatt that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Wyatt is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Retso looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Wyatt covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeice Retso!
