Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Sweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Carey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Sweet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Carey!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carey shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carey content just to control the position here.
Sweet is bucking up trying to escape but Carey cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sweet is trying desperately to improve position.
Carey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Sweet is wriggling around trying to escape.
Carey content just to control the position here.
I looks like Carey might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Carey looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Sweet tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Carey with a couple of short strikes.
Carey controlling from mount.
Sweet is looking to improve his position but Carey isn't that keen on the idea.
Carey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sweet's face.
Sweet wants to get back to his feet.

Carey is landing with some decent strikes but Sweet is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Carey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sweet's face.
Sweet is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jim Carey just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sweet misses with a head kick.
Carey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Carey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sweet wants to improve his position but Carey is controlling well.

Sweet is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Carey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sweet's guard now.
Sweet can't keep his opponent in guard - Carey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sweet controls Carey momentarily but Carey frees himself.
Carey advances to half guard.
Carey moves into full mount! Sweet won't be happy about that!
BOOM! Carey connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Carey is breathing heavily.
Sweet is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Carey controlling his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Carey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Sweet tries to reverse the position but Carey maintains control.
Carey trying to control but Sweet is having none of it.
Sweet wants to hold on but Carey pushes him away.
Jim Carey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sweet is looking to get to half guard.

Carey landing shots from mount.
Carey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sweet is working to get back to half guard.
Sweet takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sweet is looking to improve his position but Carey isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Sweet misses with a takedown

and Carey counters with a shoot takedown. Sweet fights it but they end up in guard.
Carey content to stall in guard here.
Sweet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Carey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Carey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sweet's guard now.
Carey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Carey won't allow Sweet to sweep him here.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sweet manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carey manages to get himself to full guard.

Sweet is fighting to break Carey's control of his arms but Carey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Carey is controlling Sweet's posture.
Sweet sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carey's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carey has hold of Sweet's hands but Sweet slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Carey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sweet.
Sweet is thwarting Carey's attempts to control the position.

Sweet is trying for a kimura here. Carey looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sweet wins by kimura!
