Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Advice Mallard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juarez Del Fuago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juarez Del Fuago! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mallard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mallard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mallard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mallard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Mallard advances to full mount. Del Fuago working to try and regain half guard.
Mallard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mallard has control of Del Fuago's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Del Fuago regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Mallard working for a guillotine from mount but Del Fuago is in no mood to give up. Del Fuago defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mallard. Mallard looking to secure an arm triangle but Del Fuago defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Del Fuago regains half guard. Mallard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Del Fuago is trying to control but can't.
Del Fuago looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mallard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. That's two minutes gone in the round. Mallard is working for a kimura but Del Fuago is defending it quite comfortably.
Del Fuago regains full guard. Nicely done. Del Fuago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mallard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Del Fuago is tightening it up a little... Mallard has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mallard reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mallard taps out! Nice BJJ there by Del Fuago!
