Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. CALIFORNIA LOVE by Tupac ft. Dr. Dre kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Li.
Cruz avoids the body shot from Li.
A jab from Cruz does it's job there.
Li throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cruz.
Li works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Cruz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Li misses with a series of wild punches.
Horrible takedown by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Li which made him look bad.
Cruz misses with a looping left.
Cruz drops his hands momentarily and Li takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cruz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've been told by Li's head coaches at Alpha Elite Private Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cruz bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Li's head.
Cruz misses with a looping right.

Cruz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Li tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cruz is in Li's guard.
Li manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cruz is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li looking to control but Cruz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Li controlling the pace for now.
Li can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cruz is looking to escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jet Li.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Li sprawls well. Li wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Li lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Li throws a right hand that Cruz ducks under and follows up with a left that Cruz also avoids with ease.
Li dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Li scores with a one two! Cruz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Li digs a good body shot into Cruz's ribs.

Cruz shoots in but no luck this time.

Li scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Li feints a jab promting Cruz to slip. Li then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cruz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Cruz is rocked!
Li knocks out Cruz with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Li before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Li picks up the big W with a huge KO!
