PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Bradman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estefan Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez has chosen Foo Fighters- My Hero as his entrance music. Estefan Sanchez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Bradman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Estefan Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping body kick lands there for Bradman. Bradman feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sanchez's calf. Estefan Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bradman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Some bone on bone action there as Bradman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Sanchez throws a right hand that Bradman ducks under and follows up with a left that Bradman also avoids with ease. Sanchez moves in looking to clinch but Bradman pushes him off. Sanchez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sanchez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bradman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Sanchez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bradman connects with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Bradman throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sanchez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Bradman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bradman connects with a leg kick. Sanchez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Sanchez takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Sanchez looks winded! That kick from Bradman tenderised Sanchez's leg. Sanchez is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bradman scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Bradman scores with a jab to the jaw. Bradman connects with a high kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bradman feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sanchez sprawling to the canvas! Sanchez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bradman finish him?!
Sanchez is rocked! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Bradman throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Sanchez is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Don Bradman! In his post fight interview, Don Bradman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
