Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Hedger! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones rushes Hedger and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
I was talking to Jones's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Jones avoiding damage.
Jones blocks an uppercut.
Jones connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hedger's face.
It looks like Paul Hedger has been cut. Jones is struggling to control the position. Hedger lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Hedger misses with a punch to the body.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hedger has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Jones connects with a knee to the head.

Hedger is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Hedger into the cage. A bit of stalling here from Jones.

Jones has Hedger pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Hedger is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Jones - that's hurt Hedger badly! Oh, another knee lands and Hedger is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hedger doesn't seem to be complaining.
