Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dickie Crash! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricard Cuenca! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cuenca throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Cuenca misses with a wild body shot. Crash misses with an uppercut. Cuenca saw that one coming. A punch combination from Cuenca misses. Crash lands with an uppercut that bounces Cuenca off the cage and back into range. A big right from Crash misses. Crash throws a right hand that misses
and Cuenca counters with a head kick. That will keep Crash thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Crash is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cuenca. Crash misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cuenca connects with a single shot there. Crash checks a leg kick. Crash throws a looping overhand right but Cuenca ducks down to avoid it. Crash loads up on a big right hand but Cuenca slips the punch. Crash takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Crash on the wrong end of a nice jab. Crash looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cuenca connects with a solid leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cuenca uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Crash. Cuenca waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crash. Cuenca feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Crash's calf. Crash takes a swing at Cuenca's ribcage but misses. Crash pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cuenca is out of range and Crash settles back down. Some wild striking there from Cuenca.
Crash tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cuenca manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cuenca checks a low kick from Crash. Crash throws the left hand but Cuenca avoids the punch easily. Cuenca misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crash.
Cuenca avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Crash doesn't manage to clinch there - Cuenca circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cuenca chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Crash can pounce on him.
Crash throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cuenca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crash.
Crash misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cuenca throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Crash moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Crash throws a good cross that connects.
Crash connects with the punch. Cuenca getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Crash misses with a low kick as Cuenca jumps back. Crash looks to throw the jab but Cuenca is out of range. Cuenca misses with a hook. Crash misses with a leg kick and Cuenca counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cuenca throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Crash counters with a left and a right that stings Cuenca. Crash throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Crash jabs at Cuenca's body. Crash misses with a body kick. Crash throws a head kick but Cuenca moves out of range.
Nice shot by Cuenca. Cuenca scores with a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crash throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Cuenca counters with a leg kick. Cuenca lands with a right hand. Good leg kick by Cuenca there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Crash is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Crash lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cuenca throws a low kick but it's checked well by Crash. A head kick by Crash misses and Cuenca counters with a stiff right hand. Crash misses with a left hand and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Crash is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cuenca. Cuenca throws a leg kick which misses Crash's front leg but catches the back leg as Crash tries to avoid it. Cuenca looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Crash takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Crash is breathing heavily. Crash misses with a head kick.
Dickie Crash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crash throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A head kick misses from Crash. Cuenca lands a nice hook to Crash's body. Crash takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Crash takes one on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ricard Cuenca will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Crash misses with a straight right. Jab, jab by Cuenca - just one landing. Cuenca shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Cuenca steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Crash. Cuenca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crash.
Cuenca misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Crash thows a body shot but no joy. Cuenca moves out of range as Crash strikes. Crash is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A slow jab from Crash misses its intended target. Ricard Cuenca seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cuenca uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Crash. Crash throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Crash scoring well with a low kick there.
Cuenca has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A kick lands to the mid section there for Cuenca. Cuenca ducks under a wild hook from Crash.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crash on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. A head kick misses from Crash. Crash will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crash rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cuenca moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cuenca lands a big head kick that sends Crash tumbling to the mat! Cuenca takes a step backwards and waves Crash back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Crash is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Crash misses with a looping left. Crash misses with a leg kick and Cuenca counters with a slapping leg kick. Good leg kick by Cuenca there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Crash misses with a double jab
and Cuenca counters with a nice uppercut. Oh Crash is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Crash wants to land a leg kick but Cuenca is out of range. Crash seems to have got his legs back now. Crash throws the left hand but Cuenca avoids the punch easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crash takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Cuenca dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Crash throws a head kick but Cuenca moves out of range.
Crash takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Cuenca clobbers Crash with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Cuenca connects with a right hand. Crash shakes it off. Cuenca tries a head kick but it misses.
Crash swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cuenca counters with a left right combination that sends Crash crashing to the mat - Cuenca wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Crash out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricard Cuenca! Ricard Cuenca retains his middleweight title! Ricard Cuenca very nearly forgot to thank Fury Nutrition Inc. amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you. Dickie Crash was interviewed post fight and said 'Congrats Champ! How about Darren Lockyer next? That guy is a cotton headed ninny muggins. I want to knock that bald head of his right off his scrawny shoulders. '.
