Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonh Kurtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurtis comes to the cage accompanied by Wrong Answer. Veloso has chosen Bonde da Oskley - Cachorrinho as his entrance music. Erik Veloso is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Veloso decides to pull guard. Veloso has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kurtis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kurtis has gone for a leg lock! Veloso slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kurtis's guard. Kurtis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Veloso is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kurtis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Veloso's back instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurtis tightening his grip on Veloso, looking for the choke. Veloso rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Veloso makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Veloso. Kurtis pushes down on Veloso's leg and manages to get into half guard. Veloso tries to roll over but Kurtis keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Veloso looking for submissions off his back. Kurtis moves nicely into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jonh Kurtis will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kurtis pushes a forearm under Veloso's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Veloso is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
