Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Metody Pawlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raphael Davis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Metody Pawlak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raphael Davis! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pawlak tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily and Davis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pawlak won't be happy with that. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Davis passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pawlak! Pawlak tries to reverse the position but Davis maintains control. Pawlak regains half guard. Davis tries to pass to full mount but Pawlak defends it. Davis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Davis is looking to take a break and control but Pawlak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Pawlak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Davis is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Pawlak still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Pawlak has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pawlak wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Davis struggling a bit here. Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pawlak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pawlak is trying to get an arm triangle but Davis is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pawlak goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pawlak's guard! Nice work there by Davis! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pawlak preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pawlak fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pawlak wants to sweep but Davis has passed to side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Pawlak manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Davis wants to take a breather but Pawlak is having none of it. Davis is just content to waste time from the top position. Pawlak takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Davis is looking to pass into half guard but Pawlak pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pawlak is in guard. Davis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pawlak loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawlak stopping the sweep attempt from Davis. Pawlak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pawlak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Davis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Davis controls Pawlak momentarily but Pawlak frees himself.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Raphael Davis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Davis moves in looking to clinch but Pawlak pushes him off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Pawlak. Pawlak gets slowly back to his feet. Pawlak looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Pawlak persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raphael Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Pawlak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Raphael Davis. Pawlak shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely. Pawlak misses with a takedown and Davis moves into the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Davis putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Pawlak in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pawlak blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Metody Pawlak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Raphael Davis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Davis misses with a punch to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Metody Pawlak showed his dominance in that final round. Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
