Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raivis Vidzis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Raivis Vidzis enters the cage!

6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Kos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raivis Vidzis! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kos throws a chopping leg kick but Vidzis manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Kos misses with an uppercut
and Vidzis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kos's guard now. Kos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vidzis is controlling him. Vidzis gets to his feet. Kos looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Kos tried to score with a low kick but Vidzis checks it. Kos misses with a straight left. Ron Kos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kos clobbers Vidzis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Raivis Vidzis has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kos throws an off balance right hand
and Vidzis counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Vidzis stands up and waves to Kos to follow him. Vidzis ducks under a wild hook from Kos.

A close round but Raivis Vidzis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Raivis Vidzis's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kos cracks Vidzis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vidzis was well out of range. Poor timing from Kos. Kos lands a really nice looking cross but Vidzis seems unphased.
Ron Kos is winning the standup battle so far. Vidzis moves away from the strike by Kos. Kos throws a leg kick and Vidzis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vidzis wants to stand but Kos has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Kos wants to stand back up but Vidzis manages to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vidzis stands up. Kos misses with a right hand and Vidzis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kos's guard now. Vidzis prevents Kos from getting back to his feet. Raivis Vidzis has got the better of the ground game so far.

This has been an exciting period of action! Kos getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Vidzis avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Vidzis ducks right into an uppercut from Kos. Kos jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kos lands with a nice combination. Vidzis backs away looking to recover.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kos throws a body punch but Vidzis moves out of range. Kos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vidzis manages to avoid it. Kos wants to land a leg kick but Vidzis is out of range. Kos throws a poor cross that misses
and Vidzis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kos tries to get out of the position. Vidzis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kos is proving hard to escape from. Vidzis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kos, up you get!

and Vidzis counters with a single leg into guard. Kos didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
