Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Karev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Enea Vollare Mezzo. Fedor Emelianenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Oleg Karev! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karev lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
We've been told by Emelianenko's head coaches at Johny Fighting Temple that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Emelianenko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Karev.
Emelianenko throws a hook but Karev blocks it. Emelianenko misses with a jab, cross combination.
Emelianenko throws an off balance right hand
and Karev counters with a body kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Emelianenko. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karev slips a straight right by Emelianenko. Karev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Emelianenko misses with a series of wild punches.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Karev tries to sprawl out of it but Emelianenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Karev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Karev avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Oleg Karev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Karev.
A lazy body kick from Karev and Emelianenko counters with a stiff right hand. Karev swings for the body but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Karev is looking to clinch but Emelianenko is avoiding it.
Emelianenko rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Karev counters with a stiff right hand. Emelianenko throws a right hand that misses
and Karev counters with a head kick. That will keep Emelianenko thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Emelianenko. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Emelianenko connects with a looping right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Emelianenko. Those never looked like landing. Karev slips a jab from Emelianenko. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Emelianenko, as that shot connected.
Emelianenko misses with a hook
and Karev counters with a nice uppercut. Karev throws a looping overhand right but Emelianenko ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko swings and misses with a shot to the body and Karev makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Karev cracks Emelianenko with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Karev has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Emelianenko to stand back up!
Emelianenko is rocked!
It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut. Karev lands an uppercut, right on the button! Emelianenko tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Oleg Karev! Oleg Karev spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
