Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oliver Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Baki Hanma!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hanma.
Williams is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hanma thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Williams looking for submissions off his back.
Hanma has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Williams is trying to stand back up but Hanma is controlling him

Hanma is working for a kimura but Williams is defending it quite comfortably.
Hanma looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Williams is trying to stand up here but Hanma is controlling him well.
Williams tries to roll over but Hanma keeps him under control.
Hanma thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head.

Hanma is looking for a kimura here.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hanma on the ground.
Hanma prevents Williams from improving his position.

Hanma is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hanma is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hanma to get the leverage.
Hanma working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hanma is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hanma wants to work for an arm triangle but Williams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Williams works his way to full guard. Good work.
Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hanma avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Williams keeping full guard, as Hanma tries to pass.

Hanma is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hanma throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Williams is posturing up here but Hanma has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Williams tries to roll out but it's too tight and Williams has to tap! Slick submission there by Hanma!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Baki Hanma!
After winning the bout, Baki Hanma thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
