Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dean Smith has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Guy Collins's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a low kick.
Smith tries to clinch but Collins moves away
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Collins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Collins wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Smith clinches up with Collins and pushes him back against the cage.
Collins is looking for a takedown.
Smith is trying to pull guard but Collins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Collins tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Collins which made him look bad.

Collins wants to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Collins's face.

A close round but Dean Smith will probably get the nod.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Collins tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Collins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dean Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith's coach down at Finch Farm was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smith's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Smith goes for a double leg but Collins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Collins continues to drive forward.

Collins is trying to drag Smith to the mat but Smith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Smith has picked Collins up - he's going for a ride! Smith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Smith looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Collins is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard.

Smith is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Collins sees it coming and defends easily.
Collins is not content to let Smith control the position.
Collins throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Collins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.
Collins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Collins is controlling Smith's trapped leg to prevent Smith from advancing to side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Collins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.

Collins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Collins lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Smith down.
Smith is trying to work for a sweep but Collins has mounted him!
Smith sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
