The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rechsteiner fails with a takedown attempt. Rechsteiner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nogueira quickly recovers to half guard. Nogueira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nogueira looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nogueira trying to hold on to Rechsteiner's head to control him but Rechsteiner postures up.

Rechsteiner controlling the position easily from mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nogueira is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nogueira keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

and Rechsteiner counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nogueira's knee momentarily. Nogueira fails with a takedown attempt. Nogueira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rechsteiner's guard. Rechsteiner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rechsteiner pulls Nogueira in to control the position. Nogueira has gone for a leg lock! Rechsteiner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nogueira's guard. Nogueira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rechsteiner defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rechsteiner pushes down on Nogueira's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rechsteiner trying to control the pace. Rechsteiner trying to mount his opponent but Nogueira defends it. Rechsteiner is looking to take a break and control but Nogueira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nogueira with the active half guard here but Rechsteiner passes nicely into side control. Rechsteiner in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Rechsteiner staying calm. Nogueira is looking to regain half guard here but Rechsteiner keeps moving and retains side control.

Rechsteiner slips a nice elbow through Nogueira's hands, connecting with Nogueira's forehead. Nogueira is trying to maintain the position but Rechsteiner is very close to passing his half guard. Rechsteiner seems to be working for a kimura but Nogueira defends the submission attempt. Oliver Rechsteiner has got the better of the ground game so far. Well, if Rechsteiner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Nogueira throws a solid leg kick but Rechsteiner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Nogueira. Nogueira is looking to score with low kicks. Rechsteiner throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nogueira blocks it with crossed arms. Nogueira blocks a body shot from Rechsteiner. Rechsteiner is looking to take this one to the mat. Nogueira looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Rechsteiner has Nogueira pressed against the cage, preventing Nogueira from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nogueira can't break the clinch.

It looks like Oliver Rechsteiner has been cut. Rechsteiner shoots in looking for a takedown but Nogueira manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rechsteiner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nogueira trying to control the position but Rechsteiner is working away.

Rechsteiner manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Rechsteiner is trying to control the action in half guard but Nogueira is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nogueira is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rechsteiner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rechsteiner's back! Nogueira has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Rechsteiner! Can he survive? No! He's out! Nogueira gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
