Gamburyan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gamburyan vs. Brown on April 24th. Spark Boro has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Manvel Gamburyan!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamburyan shoots for a takedown but Boro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gamburyan fails with the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gamburyan.
Spark Boro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manvel Gamburyan.
Gamburyan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gamburyan.
We've been told by Boro's head coaches at Pahuyuth Muay Thai 12 elite coaches that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gamburyan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gamburyan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boro as he avoids it easily.
Boro leaves Gamburyan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gamburyan shoots in but Boro avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gamburyan shoots in but no luck this time.
Gamburyan looks winded!

and Boro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gamburyan drops his hands momentarily and Boro takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Gamburyan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gamburyan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boro quickly recovers to half guard.
Gamburyan prevents Boro from improving his position.
Boro pushes Gamburyan off looking to stand but Gamburyan dives back in and keeps control.
Gamburyan wants to pass to mount but Boro is defending the position.

Boro looks like he's trying to stand up.
Boro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gamburyan.
Boro is not content to let Gamburyan control the position.
Gamburyan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Boro haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gamburyan is looking for a kimura but Boro is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gamburyan to get the leverage.
Gamburyan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gamburyan connects with a nice short shot to Boro's temple.
Boro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boro tries to get out of the position.

Gamburyan wants to work for an arm triangle but Boro is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gamburyan is pressing down on Boro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Boro is holding on for now.

Gamburyan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gamburyan is looking to take a break and control but Boro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gamburyan wants to work for an arm triangle but Boro is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gamburyan tries to pass to full mount but Boro defends it.
Boro tries to kick Gamburyan off but Gamburyan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Manvel Gamburyan will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Boro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gamburyan.
Gamburyan darts in looking for a takedown but Boro gets double underhooks and turns Gamburyan into the cage.

Gamburyan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gamburyan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Spark Boro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manvel Gamburyan.
Gamburyan lands with an uppercut that bounces Boro off the cage and back into range.


It looks like Spark Boro has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Gamburyan.
Gamburyan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gamburyan shoots in looking for a takedown but Boro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gamburyan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gamburyan shoots in looking for a takedown. Boro tries to sprawl out of it but Gamburyan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gamburyan is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Boro lands a big head kick that sends Gamburyan tumbling to the mat! Boro takes a step backwards and waves Gamburyan back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Manvel Gamburyan has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gamburyan swinging wildly here.
Gamburyan goes for a double leg but Boro avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boro continues to drive forward.

Boro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gamburyan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boro circles away quickly and effectively.
Gamburyan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boro is fending him off so far but Gamburyan persists. Nope, Boro circles away and we're back to standing.

Boro feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gamburyan sprawling to the canvas! Gamburyan rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Boro finish him?!


Gamburyan is rocked!

and Boro counters with a nice body shot.
Gamburyan is still on wobbly legs! Can Boro finish him?
Boro looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Boro backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Gamburyan's temple! It sends Gamburyan violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Boro celebrates and the doctors try to help Gamburyan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Spark Boro!
