Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kriss Kross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ishaq Khentimentiu!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khentimentiu ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Khentimentiu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Khentimentiu connects with a solid leg kick.
Khentimentiu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A jab from Kross misses.
Kross moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kross shoots in but no luck this time.
Khentimentiu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kross rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Khentimentiu counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Khentimentiu jabs Kross to the body, keeping him at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kross misses with a takedown
and Khentimentiu counters with an outside leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Khentimentiu.
Nice shot by Kross.
Khentimentiu's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kross under the eye.
Kross on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Khentimentiu. Khentimentiu obviously looking to wear him down.
Kross is breathing heavily.
Khentimentiu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kross definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Khentimentiu scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kross misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kriss Kross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kross tries to clinch but Khentimentiu moves out of range.
Kross on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kross steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Khentimentiu. That one must have hurt.
Khentimentiu cracks Kross with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kross is rocked!
Khentimentiu looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Khentimentiu backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Kross's temple! It sends Kross violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Khentimentiu celebrates and the doctors try to help Kross!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Ishaq Khentimentiu!
Ishaq Khentimentiu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
