Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Grimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Flo Rida- 54321. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Grimes with that takedown attempt.
Rua throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Grimes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rua circles away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Grimes checks a leg kick.
Grimes misses with a takedown attempt - Rua sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Grimes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua tries to bum rush Grimes with a series of wild strikes but Grimes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rua looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A combination from Rua does no damage.
Grimes shoots in for a takedown but Rua shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Grimes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rua sprawls well. Rua wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grimes gets slowly back to his feet.
Rua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grimes.
Rua misses with a looping left.
Rua is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Grimes's half guard.
Grimes works his way to full guard. Good work.

Rua got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grimes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rua has managed to get both his arms back between Grimes's legs - danger averted.
Grimes pulls Rua in to control the position.
Grimes is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rua frees his head nicely. Oh but Grimes has switched to an armbar! Rua is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
