Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Archer Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Salwa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Salwa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christian takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Salwa thuds a left hand into Christian's body.

and Salwa counters with a flying knee. Nice.
A looping hook to the body misses from Christian. Salwa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Christian tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

We've been told by Christian's head coaches at Bloodsport Gym 16 Elites that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Christian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salwa turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Christian thumps Salwa with a low kick.
Christian fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Salwa manages to avoid it.

Christian pushes Salwa up against the cage in a clinch.
Salwa throws a head punch that misses.
Salwa has a couple of punches blocked by Christian.
Salwa keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Christian's efforts to push away.
Christian has had enough of the clinch but Salwa keeps him there for the moment.
Christian is trying to force a seperation but Salwa has the dominant position.
Salwa lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Salwa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Salwa looks to land a right hand but Christian moved out of range.
Christian doesn't manage to clinch there - Salwa circles away.

Christian throws a leg kick that misses.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Christian scores with a head kick. Salwa tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Gabriel Salwa has been cut.
Salwa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Christian throws the left hand but Salwa avoids the punch easily.
Salwa avoids the head kick by Christian.

and Salwa counters with a lovely straight right hand!

enabling Salwa to counter with a crisp jab.
Christian throws a right and a left that Salwa avoids nicely.
Salwa cracks Christian with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Christian tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Salwa pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Christian is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gabriel Salwa!
After winning the bout, Gabriel Salwa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
