Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elisha Franks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elisha Franks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson moves to clinch but Franks breaks away

and Franks counters with a single leg into guard. Stevenson didn't expect that.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Franks is looking to stand up but Stevenson won't let him.

Franks gets to his feet. Stevenson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Stevenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Franks sprawls well initially but Stevenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stevenson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Franks.

Franks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Stevenson wants to take a breather but Franks is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Franks wants to control but Stevenson is keeping busy.

Stevenson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Franks sees it coming and defends easily.

Franks looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Stevenson trying to pass the guard but Franks defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stevenson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stevenson's back!
Franks biding his time, controlling Stevenson.
Stevenson trying to get back to his feet but Franks is in full control for now.
Franks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stevenson trying to control but not successfully.
Franks misses with punches from the back.
Franks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Franks not allowing Stevenson to control his hands.
Franks lands an elbow to the side of the head.

A lull in the action here.
Franks really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Stevenson.
Franks trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevenson can't escape the position.
Franks is trying to stick to Stevenson's back but Stevenson is turning into Franks. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Franks's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stevenson.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Stevenson throws a big elbow that misses.
Franks trying to keep a closed guard but Stevenson is proving a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Elisha Franks wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Some wild striking there from Stevenson.
Stevenson looks winded!

Stevenson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Franks has his hands on Stevenson's head, controlling the position.

Franks kicks Stevenson off and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elisha Franks dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stevenson tries to clinch up

and Franks counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stevenson won't be happy with that.
Franks moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Franks decides to stand back up.
Stevenson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stevenson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stevenson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Stevenson drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stevenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Franks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Franks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Franks controlling the action here.

Franks gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Franks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevenson as he avoids it easily.

Franks scores with a takedown into Stevenson's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Franks trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Elisha Franks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stevenson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Franks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Franks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stevenson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Franks is one step ahead there.

Stevenson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Stevenson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Franks showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Franks stands and steps away. Stevenson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Franks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevenson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stevenson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Franks napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Franks stops Stevenson from passing to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Franks regains half guard.
Franks makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Franks.
Franks working a defensive guard here.

Franks is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stevenson has his hands clasped together but Franks extends and breaks Stevenson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Franks.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Elisha Franks!
