Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evan Spence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art War (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). War has chosen Nemisis as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evan Spence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Art War!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
War lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Evan Spence has been cut.
Spence tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but War swivels and escapes.
War throws a lazy head kick
and Spence counters with an outside leg kick.
War throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Spence shoots in but no luck this time.
War rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Spence counters with a slapping leg kick.
Spence changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. War tries to avoid it but Spence manages to keep hold of a leg and drag War to the ground. War escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Spence. That's going to take a lot out of him.
War is looking to chop away at Spence's legs.
War throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
War throws a leg kick

and Spence counters by moving into the clinch.
Spence is trying to pull guard but War has him pressed against the cage.
War gets underhooks to prevent Spence's takedown attempt.
Spence throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but War blocks it with crossed arms.
War wants to break free but Spence has control.
War prevents the takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

War throws a punch but it's blocked by Spence.

War breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

War gets caught napping as Spence dives in and scores a takedown. War manages to retain guard.
Spence throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spence accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Spence missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Spence trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
War is looking to stand up but Spence isn't so interested in that idea.
Spence in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spence missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
War managing to control the position.
War working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Spence.
Spence throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as War works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Spence in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

War wants to stand up but Spence is controlling him.
Spence will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spence accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Spence loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Spence is looking to work some ground and pound but War has wrist control.
War utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spence accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Spence is in close to War's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
War has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Spence is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
War is trying to break free.
Spence lands a body shot.
War lands a hook that snaps the head of Spence backwards.
Spence tries for a takedown. No joy.
Spence is breathing heavily.

War breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
War dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Spence. That did some damage!
War swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Spence counters with a big head kick but War shrugs it off.
War turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spence moves out of range as War throws a body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
War throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spence stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
War connects with a right hand. Spence shakes it off.
War misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Art War will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Evan Spence's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

War throws out a leg kick but Spence moves out of range and War only half commits.
Art War seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spence closes this distance looking for a takedown but War circles away.
War throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
War throws a nice inside leg kick.
War uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from War lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Spence has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Spence and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
War throws a series of punches but Spence moves out of range.
War takes a swing at Spence's ribcage but misses.
Spence pulls out of a head kick attempt.
War looks for the body kick but Spence saw that one coming.
A combination from War does no damage.
War throws out a loose jab but Spence uses good head movement to avoid it.

War digs a good body shot into Spence's ribs.
Art War is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spence fails with a takedown attempt.
A slapping body kick lands there for War.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
War throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spence stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
War is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Spence rather than just go for the knockout.
Spence shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with War but War pushes him off and we're back to square one.

War looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A clash of legs there as Spence blocks the low kick.

War fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Spence looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Spence throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

War connects with a body shot that sends Spence's belly button to the back.
War tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Spence is able to avoid easily.

Spence really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd cheers as War lands an impressive looking overhand right. Spence doesn't seem phased though.

Spence shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts War as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Spence or perhaps it was just good defense by War which made him look bad.

Art War showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

War throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spence.

War lands a nice shot to the body.
War misses with a few strikes there.

War fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Spence has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
