PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Killman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crone Daris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Killman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crone Daris!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Watson and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Daris as he avoids it easily.
Daris lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Killman backs up against the cage.
Killman looks for a takedown but Daris sprawls well.
Daris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Killman circles away quickly and effectively.
Killman fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Killman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Killman moves into the clinch.
Killman prevents Daris from breaking the clinch.
Daris wants to break free but Killman has control.
Killman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daris fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bob Killman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daris throws a right and a left that Killman avoids nicely.
Daris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Killman moves away.
Killman wants to clinch up but Daris keeps it at a distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Killman shoots for a double leg takedown but Daris sprawls well. He's pushed Killman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Killman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daris is fending him off so far but Killman persists. Nope, Daris circles away and we're back to standing.
Daris misses with a wild body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daris connects with a body shot that sends Killman's belly button to the back.
Killman dives in for a single leg takedown but Daris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Daris stops a takedown attempt from Killman.
Killman is breathing heavily.
Killman throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Killman keeps control of Daris as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Daris lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Killman tries to score a body lock takedown but Daris shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Daris has a couple of punches blocked by Killman.
Daris tries to work over Killman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Killman gets control of Daris's arms and successfully pulls guard. Killman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Daris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Daris controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Daris throws a big right hand that misses.
Daris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Killman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Daris working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Daris seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daris prevents Killman from getting back to his feet.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Daris working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Daris is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Crone Daris.
Daris cracks a nice hook into Killman's ribs.
Killman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Daris sprawls well. Daris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Killman gets slowly back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Daris fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Killman takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Daris scores with a jab to the head.
Daris misses with a wild body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Daris shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Killman eats them both and turns towards Daris to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Daris throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Killman crashing down! Killman tries to stagger back to his feet but Daris just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Killman asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crone Daris!
