PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hanz Ferdanand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Gustafsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferdanand comes to the cage accompanied by down with the sickness. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Gustafsson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferdanand closes the distance and clinches.

Ferdanand gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Gustafsson is working an open guard so Ferdanand takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ferdanand is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gustafsson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ferdanand looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ferdanand looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ferdanand!

Ferdanand decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gustafsson to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gustafsson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ferdanand sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ferdanand slips a straight right by Gustafsson.
Gustafsson throws a head kick but Ferdanand moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gustafsson moves in looking to clinch but Ferdanand pushes him off.
Gustafsson dives in and grabs Ferdanand's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferdanand pushes down on Gustafsson's head and hops out.
Gustafsson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ferdanand sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hanz Ferdanand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Gustafsson.

and Ferdanand counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ferdanand breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gustafsson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gustafsson tries to clinch up but Ferdanand circles away and keeps his distance.
Gustafsson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sloppy strikes from Ferdanand. Those never looked like landing.
Ferdanand shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ferdanand tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gustafsson has a takedown stuffed.

Ferdanand drives through and clinches with Gustafsson against the cage.

Ferdanand manages to pull guard.
Gustafsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferdanand swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ferdanand escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gustafsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gustafsson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferdanand. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gustafsson is looking to work some ground and pound but Ferdanand has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferdanand kicks Gustafsson off and gets to his feet.
The fighters circle, before Gustafsson throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Ferdanand's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Gustafsson lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Hanz Ferdanand was interviewed post fight and said 'Well next time punk ill be the one who wins!'.
