Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ortega trying to land knees to the body.
Ortega has clasped his hands together around stofflet's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Ortega tries to advance to mount but can't.

stofflet is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ortega's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
stofflet is looking to improve his position.
Ortega moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from stofflet.

Ortega wants to control but stofflet is keeping him busy.
stofflet tries to bench press Ortega off him but Ortega keeps the position.

Ortega is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. stofflet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ortega has control of stofflet's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and stofflet regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
stofflet is looking to improve his position but Ortega isn't that keen on the idea.
Ortega mounts stofflet! Really nice guard pass there!

Ortega can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as stofflet is looking to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
stofflet tries to lock up and control but Ortega gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ortega with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Ortega pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

stofflet stops Ortega from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
stofflet is wriggling around trying to escape.
stofflet is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
stofflet tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Ortega counters with a shoot takedown. stofflet fights it but they end up in guard.
stofflet throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
stofflet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
stofflet seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ortega does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Ortega counters with a takedown into side control.
Ortega is staying tight to stofflet's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Ortega is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, stofflet has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ortega is working to tighten is grip on stofflet's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. stofflet has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ortega is really squeezing tight and eventually stofflet passes out! Ortega breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
