and Chantry decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ballardo's guard.
Ballardo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ballardo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chantry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Chantry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ballardo swivels and escapes.
Ballardo throws a push kick but Chantry slaps the foot to one side.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ballardo throws a jab but it's blocked by Chantry.
Ballardo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chantry's sensitive parts.
Ballardo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ballardo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Chantry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ballardo rushes Chantry and presses him up against the cage.
Chantry has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ballardo after a bit of a struggle.
Ballardo lands a right hand.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ballardo.
Ballardo lands a nice uppercut.
Chantry is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Vassago Ballardo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatton Chantry.

Chantry jumps guard but Ballardo stands there with Chantry around his waist. Chantry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Chantry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ballardo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vassago Ballardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chantry shoots in looking for a takedown. Ballardo tries to sprawl out of it but Chantry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ballardo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chantry takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ballardo lands with a nice body kick.

Chantry doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Ballardo to counter with a crisp jab.

Vassago Ballardo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chantry is breathing heavily.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Ballardo throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Chantry is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
