The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diagos scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kuat stops Diagos from passing to mount.
Diagos is looking to take a break and control but Kuat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Diagos tries for a kimura but Kuat is defending well.
Kuat is looking to regain half guard here but Diagos keeps moving and retains side control.
Kuat regains half guard.
Kuat is pressing down on Diagos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kuat looking for a sweep. Not yet Kuat, not yet.
Kuat lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Diagos!
Kuat with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diagos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kuat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Diagos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Diagos tries to hold on but Kuat postures up.
Kuat jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Diagos is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Diagos and Kuat has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been informed that Diagos has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Kuat wants to control but Diagos is keeping him busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kuat can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diagos is looking to escape.

Diagos has clasped his hands together around Kuat's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Diagos is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kuat gets his way!

Kuat definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
You can see the frustration on Diagos's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Diagos is trying to get back to his feet but Kuat has full control of the position and if anything, Diagos has just worked his way into a worse spot.
