Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thaddeus Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Tesla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tesla closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jimenez's guard.
Tesla is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jimenez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jimenez wants to stand but Tesla is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dan Tesla was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Jimenez throws a head kick that misses

Jimenez is trying to break the clinch but Tesla has him pressed against the cage.

Tesla jumps guard and drags Jimenez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Tesla shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jimenez is trying to defend but Tesla finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tesla is taking a breather. Jimenez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tesla breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Tesla fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jimenez sprawls well initially but Tesla persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tesla tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jimenez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tesla closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jimenez quickly recovers to half guard.

Dan Tesla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Tesla feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jimenez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tesla manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jimenez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Tesla.

Tesla shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jimenez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jimenez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tesla asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jimenez is looking for a sweep.

Tesla wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jimenez keeps working.
Tesla tries to advance to mount but can't.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tesla swings around for an armbar but Jimenez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tesla's guard.

Jimenez has gone for a leg lock! Tesla slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jimenez's guard.
Tesla stands and throws Jimenez's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Tesla is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jimenez has escaped the position, nice work there.

I would just about give that final round to Dan Tesla.
Well Tesla has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
