Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabe McFinney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabe McFinney told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McFinney closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gruber to the mat! Gruber manages to get full guard.
McFinney trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gruber's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gruber is on top in guard.

McFinney had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gruber defends it easily.

Gruber drops back looking for a leg! McFinney is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McFinney manages to kick Gruber off! Gruber jumps back into McFinney's guard.
Gruber has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McFinney can do anything to dispel that myth.

McFinney isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gruber stacks McFinney on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gruber!

McFinney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gruber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gruber cracks McFinney with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Gruber immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! McFinney is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Gruber!
