Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Del Fuego!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Del Fuego is defended easily by Mckenzie.
Del Fuego shoots in looking for a takedown. Mckenzie tries to sprawl out of it but Del Fuego keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mckenzie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Del Fuego has taken the fight to the clinch.
Del Fuego is trying to break the clinch but Mckenzie is controlling him.
Del Fuego is trying to push Mckenzie away but Mckenzie has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Del Fuego gets control of Mckenzie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Del Fuego will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Del Fuego is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mckenzie tries to free his leg and advance position but Del Fuego is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Esteban Del Fuego was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Mckenzie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Mckenzie wants to work for an arm triangle but Del Fuego is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mckenzie has gone for a leg lock! Del Fuego slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mckenzie's guard.
Mckenzie can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Del Fuego controls the pace.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mckenzie is staying active underneath Del Fuego, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Del Fuego wants to free his trapped foot but Mckenzie is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Del Fuego is trying to trip Mckenzie. He has hold of a leg but Mckenzie is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Del Fuego persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Del Fuego is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Del Fuego throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mckenzie's waist but Mckenzie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Del Fuego off to one side.

Mckenzie slaps away a takedown attempt from Del Fuego, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Del Fuego lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mckenzie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Del Fuego moves away.
Del Fuego shoots in for a takedown but Mckenzie shows good takedown defense.
Mckenzie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Del Fuego tries to avoid it but Mckenzie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Del Fuego to the ground. Del Fuego escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Del Fuego shoots in for a takedown but Mckenzie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Esteban Del Fuego showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Esteban Del Fuego seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mckenzie shoots for a double leg takedown but Del Fuego sprawls well. He's pushed Mckenzie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Mckenzie counters with a nice kick to the body.
Del Fuego is looking to clinch but Mckenzie is avoiding it.
Del Fuego dives in for a single leg takedown but Mckenzie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Mckenzie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Del Fuego walks away with a smile on his face. Mckenzie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mckenzie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Del Fuego swivels and escapes.
Ken Mckenzie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Esteban Del Fuego is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Esteban Del Fuego comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Del Fuego has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
