The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burn scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davidson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Davidson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Burn wants to control but Davidson is keeping him busy.

Burn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davidson's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Davidson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Weed Burn has been cut.

Burn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davidson circles away quickly and effectively.
Davidson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Burn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
