Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Weed Burn! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burn scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Davidson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Davidson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Burn working away. Davidson tries to improve position but can't. Burn controls the position from side control. Burn wants to control but Davidson is keeping him busy. Davidson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burn wants to control for a moment but Davidson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Davidson moves into full guard.
Burn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Burn wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Weed Burn. Davidson is looking to clinch but Burn is avoiding it.
Burn forces Davidson back against the cage and clinches. Burn manages to pull guard.
Burn keeping moving, preventing Davidson from controlling successfully. Davidson is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruce Davidson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Davidson tries to close the distance and clinch but Burn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Burn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Davidson misses with some punches.
Burn pulls guard. Burn looking for subs off his back but Davidson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Burn controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Burn blocking the ground and pound attempt from Davidson. Davidson is figuring out what he wants to do next. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burn tries to kick Davidson off but Davidson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Davidson is taking a breather. Burn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davidson is thwarting Burn's attempts to control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Burn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davidson's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Weed Burn dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Burn tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Davidson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Weed Burn has been cut. Davidson misses with a series of wild punches.
Burn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davidson circles away quickly and effectively. Davidson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Burn swats him away and circles back towards the center. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davidson is defended easily by Burn. A head kick by Davidson misses and Burn counters with a straight right hand. Nice takedown defense from Burn. No joy for Davidson on that attempt. Burn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Burn is in Davidson's guard. Burn is looking to work some ground and pound but Davidson has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burn trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Davidson manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Burn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Burn looking to control.
Weed Burn has got the better of the ground game so far. Davidson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Burn wants to improve his position but instead Davidson has moved into half guard.
Burn tries to get to full guard but Davidson has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burn trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burn is trying to get back to full guard. Davidson working over Burn with some ground and pound. Burn looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Davidson wants to take a breather but Burn is having none of it. Burn looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Burn is breathing heavily. Davidson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Burn defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davidson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Davidson is thwarting Burn's attempts to control the position. Well, if Davidson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Bruce Davidson just wasn't active enough. Burn leaves Davidson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burn shoots in and gets a takedown into Davidson's guard. Burn wants to stand but Davidson is controlling his posture from full guard. Burn being controlled here momentarily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Weed Burn will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Weed Burn's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Burn gets a takedown into half guard. Burn wants to pass the guard but Davidson is defending well. Burn is looking to pass Davidson's guard but actually Davidson recovers to full guard. Davidson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson keeping moving, preventing Burn from controlling successfully. Davidson pushes a forearm under Burn's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Burn is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
