Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Turner manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Velasquez stands up from Turner's guard - Velasquez perhaps looking for a knockout.
Velasquez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee asks Velasquez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Velasquez prefers to stall for the moment though.
Velasquez prevents Turner from escaping the position.

Velasquez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Turner wants to get back to his feet but Velasquez is dominant here and he's now got Turner's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velasquez tries to get the hooks in deep but Turner pushed the leg off.
Turner defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Velasquez's arms.
Velasquez just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Velasquez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Turner defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Velasquez's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Velasquez is persistently looking for the submission but Turner is defending it well.
Velasquez is looking for the choke from the back position but Turner is controlling his hands well.
Turner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Turner manages to stand up with Velasquez still on his back. Eventually Velasquez drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
A head kick misses from Velasquez.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turner fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Velasquez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Velasquez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Velasquez tries to pass to full mount but Turner defends it.
Velasquez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Turner is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
