Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Nohara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves's entrance music is Trik Turner - Friends and Family. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddy Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Nohara! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nohara tries to land a leg kick but Alves saw it coming and moves away.
Alves rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nohara makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Alves moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Nohara misses with a body kick. Alves misses with a straight left. Alves falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nohara counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. A jab from Alves finds it's way through Nohara's defenses. Alves misses with a two punch combination.
Nohara misses the shot to the body. Nice body kick from Nohara. Alves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck for Alves with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves lands a jab to Nohara's midsection. Alves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nohara was well out of range. Poor timing from Alves. Alves loads up on a big right hand but Nohara slips the punch. A nice inside leg kick there by Nohara. That's going to slow Alves down. Alves throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Nohara counters with an outside leg kick.
Alves scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Nohara gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Alves. Alves misses with a takedown attempt and Nohara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nohara displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alves. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddy Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nohara tries to clinch but Alves moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nohara on the wrong end of a nice hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alves misses with a hook
and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Some wild striking there from Alves.
Nohara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head. Nohara slips a jab and a cross from Alves.
Alves misses with a series of wild punches.
Freddy Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hiro Nohara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Alves throws a poor cross that misses
and Nohara makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Alves throws a hook but Nohara blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nohara looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Alves falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nohara counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Alves is trying to maintain a safe position but Nohara gets an underhook and turns Alves into the cage. Alves's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Nohara misses with a punch to the body.
Nohara keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Alves's efforts to push away. Alves has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Alves takes a shot to the head. Nohara lands a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nohara misses with some punches.
Nohara breaks the clinch.
Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nohara circles away quickly and effectively. Alves fails to land with a series of punches.
Alves misses with a double jab.
Alves is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Alves takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nohara gets caught flat footed, as Alves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nohara utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alves won't allow Nohara to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Hiro Nohara will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Alves swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Alves looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Alves throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nohara was covering up waiting for the punch and Alves finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nohara is controlling Alves's posture. Nohara's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Nohara thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Alves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nohara trying to keep a closed guard but Alves is proving a slippery customer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Alves slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nohara tries to get to full guard but Alves has control of the leg. Nohara is trying to maintain the position but Alves is very close to passing his half guard. Nohara wants to get back to full guard. Nohara wants to get back to full guard but Alves has mounted him! Nohara is desperately trying to improve his position but Alves has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nohara tries to lock up and control but Alves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Nohara is looking to improve his position but Alves isn't that keen on the idea. Nohara wants to control but Alves is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nohara tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nohara tries to hold on but Alves pushes him away. Alves trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nohara tries to hold on but Alves postures up. Alves prevents Nohara from getting the reversal. Alves unloads with some shots from mount but Nohara bucks and avoids them well.
Alves scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nohara is desperately trying to improve his position but Alves has a good base and remains in mount. Nohara wants to control but Alves is having none of it. Nohara is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves lands a big shot there that rocks Nohara but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Alves lands with some strikes. Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alves punishing his opponent with strikes. Nohara has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Freddy Alves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alves postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nohara looks a forlorn figure.
Nohara is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alves looking to finish with strikes here!
Alves landing strikes from the mount. Nohara is still in real trouble! Can Alves finish him? Nohara is in a horrible position here. Alves smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Nohara in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Alves looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Nohara covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
