Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nonfu Lakalaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earl Johnson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Earl Johnson !
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakalaka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson .
Lakalaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Johnson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lakalaka swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lakalaka wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Johnson throws a strike but Lakalaka rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lakalaka controls the pace.
Lakalaka wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Lakalaka gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Johnson shoots and misses
and Lakalaka counters with a nice body shot.
Nonfu Lakalaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Earl Johnson .
Lakalaka lands a nice looking body shot.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lakalaka counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson .
Johnson looks winded!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson .
Lakalaka scores with a hook.

It looks like Earl Johnson has been cut.
Nonfu Lakalaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lakalaka drops Johnson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Johnson looks back up at him and smiles so Lakalaka waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Lakalaka weaves into range and cracks Johnson right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Johnson goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Lakalaka is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nonfu Lakalaka!
