Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stan Winner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Louis! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner has a takedown stuffed. Louis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Winner wants to control but Louis postures up. Louis misses with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Winner is trying to get back to half guard. Louis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Winner manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Louis is trying to work for a kimura but Winner is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Winner misses with a straight left. Winner misses with a takedown attempt and Louis counters with a lovely shot to the body. Winner instigates a clinch. Still in the clinch, Winner scores with a nice short uppercut. That's two minutes gone in the round. Winner lands with a light punch inside. Louis is trying to drag Winner to the mat but Winner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Winner blocks an uppercut.

Winner has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Louis is trying to keep an underhook but Winner manages to get the takedown into half guard. Winner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Louis is trying to escape back to his feet but Winner uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Winner grinds an elbow into Louis's temple. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louis is trying to work for a sweep but Winner has mounted him! Louis looks gassed! Winner looking to finish Louis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Louis! Louis is looking to get to half guard. Winner landing strikes from the mount and Louis is in trouble! Winner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Winner lands a big shot there that rocks Louis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

and Louis counters with a leg kick. Louis with a lazy takedown attempt and Winner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Louis thinking. Jab by Winner. Winner misses with a wild body shot. Winner shoots in and bounces Louis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Winner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Louis's head. Louis is breathing heavily. Winner controlling from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Louis is looking for a triangle here but Winner uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Winner lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

A nice elbow there by Winner. Winner cracks Louis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Louis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Winner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winner with a couple of short strikes. Winner controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Winner finds it's way round the side to connect with Louis's head. Winner connects with a body shot. Winner gets the takedown into side control. Winner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. That's two minutes gone in the round. Winner lands an elbow. Winner is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Louis will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Winner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Louis, who protects the arm well. Winner scoring with punches from side control. Stan Winner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee asks Winner politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Winner prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winner has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Winner's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Winner advances nicely into full mount. Stan Winner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Winner controlling the pace for now.

Stan Winner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Winner gets the takedown into side control. Winner decides to stand up, so the ref orders Louis to his feet.
