Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buster Cain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terrance Hendershot! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendershot has Cain up against the cage in a clinch.
Hendershot pulls Cain into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cain cracks Hendershot with a solid left hand. Cain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cain postures up and lands a big shot to Hendershot's brow. Cain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cain drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hendershot manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cain has Hendershot in his guard. Cain keeping moving, preventing Hendershot from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hendershot wanted to stand there but Cain had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cain keeping full guard, as Hendershot tries to pass. Hendershot wants to stand and escape but instead Cain has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Cain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hendershot's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendershot keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully. Cain stopping the sweep attempt from Hendershot. Cain controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hendershot looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Cain controls Hendershot momentarily but Hendershot frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendershot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hendershot throws a big elbow that misses. Cain looking for subs off his back but Hendershot has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cain avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hendershot. Hendershot thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hendershot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cain keeps working. We've been informed that Hendershot has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Hendershot escapes and gets back to his feet. Hendershot looks winded! Hendershot jabs Cain to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hendershot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cain pinned against the cage. Cain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hendershot has closed the distance and engaged Cain in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terrance Hendershot dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cain keeps the fight on the outside. Cain uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hendershot shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cain is trying to defend but Hendershot finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Terrance Hendershot has got the better of the ground game so far. Cain is trying to maintain the position but Hendershot is very close to passing his half guard. Hendershot thows a huge punch but Cain dodges it nicely.

Cain has a closed guard, preventing Hendershot from standing up. Hendershot is breathing heavily. Cain wants to get back to his feet but Hendershot is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hendershot distracts Cain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hendershot wants to control from the top but Cain keeps moving. Hendershot sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendershot looking to sit in guard and control but Cain gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hendershot avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hendershot is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hendershot looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Terrance Hendershot wasn't active enough on the ground. Hendershot has a takedown stuffed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendershot tries to land a front kick but Cain steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hendershot gets a clinch. Hendershot jumps guard but Cain turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Hendershot fails to pull guard.
Buster Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terrance Hendershot. Cain stalls. Hendershot wants to break free but Cain has control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cain has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Cain is looking to break free of the clinch but Hendershot has double underhooks. Cain is trying to force a seperation but Hendershot has the dominant position. Hendershot has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cain is trying to keep an underhook but Hendershot manages to get the takedown into half guard. Hendershot throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Cain to regain full guard. Cain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hendershot throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cain works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hendershot won't allow Cain to sweep him here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cain keeping moving, preventing Hendershot from controlling successfully. Cain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terrance Hendershot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Cain changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hendershot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cain goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hendershot has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cain but great work by Hendershot. Hendershot gets to mount! Cain was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Hendershot lands a couple of good shots and Cain has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Hendershot has the hooks in. Cain is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Hendershot cracks Cain with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Cain from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hendershot is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hendershot gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hendershot gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hendershot apologises and we restart here on the feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hendershot manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cain on his heels. He'll look to pass Cain's guard now, I'm sure. Cain has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hendershot has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendershot successfully pulls guard.
Hendershot keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully. Cain wants to pass the guard but Hendershot is keeping the position. Cain wants to stand and escape but instead Hendershot has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hendershot's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hendershot landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendershot postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hendershot tries to free his leg and advance position but Cain is retaining full guard. Hendershot lands a couple of digs. Hendershot avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cain working for submissions but it's allowed Hendershot to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendershot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cain's head. Hendershot scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hendershot missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hendershot is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hendershot wants to control but Cain is keeping him busy. Hendershot working over Cain with some ground and pound. Cain looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hendershot drops an elbow to the side of Cain's head. Hendershot stalling. Hendershot landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hendershot trying to control from half guard but Cain is working away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hendershot throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Terrance Hendershot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hendershot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
